Synopsis

It's been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island's dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event.

Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who's still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

Plot

Act I

A submarine approaches through murky water, the pilots are sweating nervously. They stop at a large gate. One of them calls out to someone on the radio to open it. A blinding light slices through the darkness as the gate begins to open. Above ground a storm batters the Jurassic World Lagoon, lightning flashes behind the Innovation Center in the distance.

ISLA NUBLAR, 120 MILES WEST OF COSTA RICA

Back underwater the Submarine cautiously enters the Lagoon. One of the pilots is noticeably uncomfortable, but the other assures him that anything in there would be dead by now. Powerful lights search the dark seabed before coming to rest on their target; the remains of the Indominus Rex. A claw extends from the Submarine, grabbing one of the bare ribs. A second arm with a buzz saw extends slicing the rib free. A salvage balloon deploys carrying the rib to the surface. A flash of lightning reveals a large silhouette moving towards the Submarine. Back above ground, a man works hurriedly at an outdoor console, a helicopter is parked behind him in waiting. He orders the Helicopter to retrieve the Indominus sample and tells the Submarine to get out of the lagoon so he can close the gate. The team below start prepping to leave, unaware of the gargantuan jaws slowly approaching from behind. This glow of the submarine from the surface suddenly goes out.

The Helicopter returns with the sample, but the man on the ground has lost contact with the Submarine. He tells them he can't wait any longer and starts to close the gate. A Dilophosaur runs past in the bushes distracting him. He doesn't notice the trees above begin to shake, but the team in the Helicopter do. They yell, trying to get his attention, but he's still trying to reach the Submarine. Another flash of lightning illuminates a terrifying silhouette in the trees; the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The group in the Helicopter see it, but the man turns back too late and sees only darkness. The rest of his group continue yelling for him to run but their calls are lost in the storm. Looking back and forth being the group and the tree line, the man finally see it, but it's too late. The Rex and the man stare eye to eye for a moment, the man screams in terror and the Rex roars defiantly. The Helicopter launches off the ground away from the Rex, the man runs towards it but it's already too high and the Rex is hot on his heals. The Helicopter drops a rope ladder down to him but he can't quite reach it. He chases after the dangling ladder across the West Boardwalk, he dodges around an overturned Maintenance Vehicle that the Rex launches into the IMAX Theater. He's literally at the lagoon's edge now, the ladder is almost out of reach. He runs up the crumbling barrier and launches himself into the air, only just managing to grab the ladder.
