Owen Grady is a former member of the US Navy. He was recruited by InGen Security as part of Project I.B.R.I.S. and was working as an Animal Trainer on Isla Nublar during the 2015 Jurassic World Incident.

Following the Incident, he began a short-lived relationship with Claire Dearing, before leaving to start a new life in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He was later recruited by Dearing during the 2018 Isla Nublar Crisis to join a joint mission between the Dinosaur Protection Group and the Lockwood Foundation to rescue as many of the surviving dinosaurs as possible from Isla Nublar.

By 2018, Grady had moved on to the Sierra Nevada mountains where he was building himself another cabin. At some point Eli Mills reached out to Grady about being part of the Lockwood Foundation's expedition to Isla Nublar to rescue several of the surviving dinosaurs before Mount Sibo's imminent eruption.
