Production

Two sets were constructed during production to represent the Velociraptor Pen. One on location in Kauai and another partial mockup at Stage 27 at Universal Studios. Restrictions at the National Tropical Botanical Garden meant that the set construction team were not allowed to dig into the ground, resulting in a set that literally 'sat' on the location. This set did not have the necessary clearance for the camera on the inside, so an additional set was constructed at Universal Studios with a deeper pit.
