The Operations Building was the hub of InGen's Site B operations, located in the Worker Village on Isla Sorna.

It was abandoned by InGen as Hurricane Clarissa approached the island and remained derelict until 1997 where it was utilised by survivors of both John Hammond's research expedition and the InGen Harvest Operation to call for rescue.

History

Sometime between 1982 and 1993, the Operations Building was constructed by InGen as part of the Worker Village at Site B on Isla Sorna. It continued to operate until just before Hurricane Clarissa decimated the facilities on the island, forcing InGen to evacuate and abandon it. Though the building remained structurally intact, the roof and many of the windows were damaged by the hurricane. Abandoned, it was slowly reclaimed by the jungle over the next few years.

In 1997, the InGen Harvest Operation and the survivors of John Hammond's expedition to Isla Sorna were forced to seek out the Operations Building to make use of its Communications Center in order to call for rescue after both teams communications equipment was destroyed.

Nick Van Owen arrived at the Operations Building first, exploring the lobby with his flashlight. He was startled by the mural that adorned the reception area though quickly laughed at the vision for Jurassic Park that never came to be. Entering the Communications Center, he located the circuit breaker for the village and restored power to the compound, blowing a nearby lamp as the electrical appliances came back to life. He tuned the radio and after successfully making contact InGen Harvest Base, he relayed the co-ordinates of the survivors and requested immediate extraction by air.

After a brief scuffle with Velociraptors in the village, Ian Malcolm, Sarah Harding and Kelly Curtis joined Van Owen at the entrance to Operations Building. Overhead an InGen Huey arrived, landing on the Helipad to evacuate them. The group hurried up the stairs where they were met by an InGen Worker who loaded them into the aircraft. Surprised by the single chopper, Malcolm stated that there must have been more survivors to which the worker assured that another chopper was coming from them. Taking off, the group left the island, leaving the Operations Building abandoned once more.
