Amber is fossilized tree resin left over from prehistoric times, often containing insects such a mosquitos that have been perfectly preserved. It was theorised by John Hammond that traces of Dinosaur blood might be present inside of mosquitos that lived and died in the same period and could be used for cloning purpose. This theory eventually proved to be true and paved the way for a process that came to be known as De-Extinction.
