The Undated Craig Rosenberg Draft was the very first script produced for Jurassic Park III.

Synopsis

“It was Steven’s idea to have Sam Neill’s character be discovered living on the island,” says Johnston. “He’d snuck in after not being allowed in to research the dinosaurs, and was living in a tree like Robinson Crusoe.”

— Pg. 189

Rosenberg’s story followed three families in two chartered airplanes—the adult passengers in one plane, the kids in the other—on their way to the Galapagos Islands. The Lost World’s Site B, Isla Sorna, again played host to the story. “The kids’ plane somehow crash-lands on the island, and you can imagine where the story goes from there,” explains Johnston. “The script was unwieldy, overly complicated, with too much teen angst and overly witty sitcom one-liners. There were too many characters and contrived dynamics between them that took away from the fun. Fortunately, no one liked it.”

— Pg. 190
